SVT Disassembly

I see the fasteners that hold the rear plate on. No problem.

I know the chassis is in two pieces, pre section and power section. I don't plan to remove any chassis.

But I wonder how to remove the front grille cloth piece. This is an MTI-era unit.

Should just pop out when you pull on it.

My 70's vintage blue-line uses glued-on patches of velcro-like plastic fingers-with-balls-on-the-ends to hold the front grille in place. It's possible to pry it loose from the front, but a little tricky to get the prying angle right, because it mounts pretty flush. If I've already got the back panel off, I usually push it from behind with a long screwdriver or a drum stick - making sure I'm pushing the wood frame, and not just the cloth!

Excellent. Thank you. The grille on my ampeg combo is like that. Flush/recessed grillel frame. STRONG velcro. I think I will poke it in the rear like Sid suggests, at least the first time.

Hope this is on topic (but still a rediculous question)
When I first got my 2007 SCT-CL ( early vietnamese ). I managed to disassemble it completely except for the fan wire clip connector. The small white one. How on earth do you disconnect those things?

Thanks!

Long live the mighty SVT!
