SVT Replacement Faceplate

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently acquired a great working, and wonderful sounding Ampeg SVT Classic for next to nothing. The only issue is that the previous owner somehow lost the faceplate for it. He was working on it, took the faceplate off, and then forgot about it. Nowhere to be found, which is one of the reasons I got it for so cheap.

It originally had a black and white (current design) SVT faceplate. But I cannot find a replacement ANYWHERE!! I've been on the phone with Ampeg, Fliptops.net, and several others, and no one makes a replacement. The ampeg rep did however mention that when the SVT AV was first released, Ampeg sold an AV conversion kit for a short time. It was just the AV faceplate (which fits the current SVT layout) and a set of new knobs. Of course, they don't sell them anymore I can't find an AV conversion kit either. I've attached photos below of the two faceplates that would fit the head.

I love how the head sounds, and really want to play out with it. It's just too fragile without the faceplate. It seems like it would be an easy piece to acquire, but it apparently is not. Any help?
