SVT tone combo amp suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
Getting ready to start up a new gig in a smaller club venue. My current SVT-VR Berg610 would be overkill but I love the SVT tone. Is there a combo amp (say 2x10 or 15 or possibly 4x10) that does a good job of getting the SVT tone at smaller room volumes?
For additional background - I'm playing a passive 5 string Fender Jazz and my 2 guitards are each playing 50watt (tube) Peavey 50's with 2x12s, the drummer will be using a digital drum with my old Ampeg BA115 combo. We'll focus mostly on 60s,70s,80s rock but will throw in some current stuff as well.

The Ampeg Micro-VR looks like it was designed to do exactly what you are looking for. I never tried one, but there seems to be at least a few happy customers.

My quest: same tone as my SVT-CL with a smaller head.
Soultion: Mesa Walkabout with a lightweight cabinet; currently using a 1x15 and the volume is enough with 2 guitars, keys, and medium hard hitting drummer with no PA support for backline - 100 seat clubs
Unkown: Using WA head in Mesa's combo cabinet (Scout)
Future plans: using a cabinet with more speakers for the same volume with more headroom; using my Berg HT322 with this head is killer although this cab is almost 100 lbs.

Ampeg micro VR or Ampeg PF350, can't be more Ampeg than that!

Kustom

The new Kustom Deep End hybrid combos claim to get that sound. They have both 100w and 200w versions of their 15” combo that look cool.
I’m getting the head delivered shortly and will write a review then.
Available at Amazon.com with FREE shipping. Check them out.

Someone's got to recommend a Sans Amp VT pedal. I'm that guy though - I've never even seen one.

This might be the ticket - the 200-210 looks interesting. Looking forward to the review.
