Anyone have this setup? If so, how does it sound? |

| | | | I use one of these cabs with a Peavey VB2, Ampeg V4, and a Genz Benz Streamliner 600. It's an amazing sounding cab! I think it sounds like a little fridge to be honest. |

The cabs were the easy part...now to find the VB4. For now, I use it with an MB200 or a 400RBIII and it sounds great to my ears.
It seems to handle the 200 watts its rated at just fine, but I do not bump the bass knob at all, so your results might very at high volumes. Not many cabs this small sound as good. It fits in the mix really well without the tweeter and the boom from extra bottom you get from a bigger cab. It's different enough from other 10" cabs that you should test before you buy to make sure its your thing though. It's punchy, but it doesn't have as much highend extension (even the woofer doesn't extend as high as other 10s I have experimented with). I can't hear fret noise out of these cabs, but I can in another tweeterless cab that I have, and other Eminence drivers I have used.
I have been toying with miking it because it sounds so good, but I hate adding complexity to our FOH.

I'm thinking I might stop gigging soon so I won't need a big cab anymore. There is no way in hell I am getting rid of my '71 SVT. Two 210AVs are very appealing to me as they are sealed. |

You would be advised to turn them on their sides with a wide amp (not trying to get into the vertical vs horizonal discussion here). 100 pound tube heads need to be supported.

I haven't compared the sound to an 810, but I will do soon, although JimmyM has and although I can't remember the thread I'm sure he'll be along soon. |

I might be better off screwing them together... Ha |

| | Johnny and Joe | | Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Chicago | | I've got a V-4B and one 210AV cab, but I haven't hooked them together yet--the head needs a bit of work, and I've been using my Walkabout head w/VT pedal instead. I plan to get a second 210AV and run them with the V-4B, though. I'm tall, so I want to stack the cabs (also, it's going to sound better in a vertical array). I'll put the V-4B underneath them.
