Assuming we all know what scratchy pots and such sound like, what are some of the other items degradation symptoms in an all Tube amp?
Microphonic Preamp-tubes for example are ringy when tapped or bumped, and if they are weak they have sort of a crinkly-staticky fuzzy thing going on.
My understanding is that worn power tubes are difficult to BIAS and lose power especially when warm.
I have no idea what worn caps behave like...
Not sure if what I'm stating so far is correct or not, so feel free to toss in your experience for those of us still getting familiar with tube amps!
