SVT2 Drive -Noisy?

Sign in to disble this ad
After a long period of using my SVT2 Pro with the drive dialled down (i.e off, 100% counterclockwise) I have recently rediscovered the joy of this amp's drive feature. A lovely grit indeed.

However, I have found the amp does have a noticeable hum when the drive is dialled in anywhere higher than 12 o'clock. With the drive dialled back down counterclockwise the amp is ghostly silent =no noise floor.

It's not really noticeable when playing but it is in between songs and at soundcheck.

I have recently changed all the tubes (6 months ago) and am wondering if this is a normal outcome of the drive feature?? Anyone else notice this outcome with the drive??
