Hi,
Recently I buy a 210av cab, and when I play the A string or the A note in somewhere on the neck, the grill make a strange noise, like a bee.
If I press the grill, the noises off.
Anyone can help-me? Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Ps.: Sorry, but my english isn't good!
Ps 2.: David Vector says that have removed the grill. How can I remove the grill? |

Another thing you can do is use velcro or double-sided tape to hold the grill in, preventing it from rattling around. |

I just guess that noise is the grill rattling around. My grill don't like the A note! rsrsrs
But, realy what hold the grill? A screw, glue...? |

If I press the grill, the noises off. | both my 210av do the same thing, on G note...
Not at lower volume settings, but starting to mid to higher volume settings, the grill vibrates, producings that noise.
I tried removing the grills, and the cabs sounded perfect, than with the grills on, the vibrations and the noise was there. |

Today I tried remove it, unscrewing the logo plate and pull the screw with pliers. I pulled too hard, but the grill don't move! |

I had to take a screwdriver, put it in one of the bottom tabs, then bend it around and leverage it off the edge of the cab to get it off (HINT: put a thick towel between screwdriver and cab to avoid denting). But it sounds to me like one of the velcro tabs isn't making a complete connection. Maybe taking it off and reseating will fix it, though, because the grills on my two are dead quiet.

So Jimmy, what is the current rig of choice for electric bass now? These, or the PF15's? I assume you are using the vt bass and the PF350 all the time now?

Or a main bass. Last night I used the B-15N head with the PF115 cabs. Friday I used the Micro VR and a 210av.

I bring both and decide what to take out of the bags. I almost wish we weren't using IEMs (ampless), because I really like both the SVT210 and that 1x10 frankenstein cab I have been using. At home, I absolutely love the PF500. It has a mild overdriven sound that I have never had in one of my rigs. I haven't tried it with the SVT210's because those aren't on the trailer right now, and I don't have much practical use for them on stage since I wouldn't be turning them up much anyhow.
In the FOH, I don't know if you can tell the difference honestly after the soundman gets done with his tone shaping and compression. I get great feedback that the vt deluxe sounds great by itself, though.
Ah, decisions...

I'm able to use both cabs at moderate to mid volume with the GK400RB or the 800RB, without the vibrations, even at the gig. (but if I push the volume a little more, the vibrations are there)
I would like to know if there is a thing to do to get rid of the vibrations... |

without the grills the cabs sound OK, without noise or vibrations.
uhm... maybe the the GK response on the bass, it's easy on the cabs (and the grill) than an SVT... just thoughts... |

Thanks for your help. I tame my bitch!
I used your technics, using a screwdriver on the bottom tabs. I removed the grill and reseat it.
Now my 210av is dead quiet!
Thanks JimmyM, thanks folks! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
