SVT4PRO or MESA BigBlock750 (HELP)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,
My name is Jesse and I am 11 years old. My dad and I narrowed down our decision to purchase either an AMPEG SVT4PRO, or a MESA BigBlock750. Being that we are buying online, can't really A/B as my dad suggests. I have an AMPEG SVT 8X10" cab, so the 4pro seems like a good match, and I like the tube sound from what I have heard in the past. However, I still have this Mesa thing stuck in my head for some reason after talking to some other bass people at the local store: Mostly play classic style original rock... What to do?

Thanx

Just gonna bump this as it's almost going on to page 2. I'd prefer the Mesa to the Ampeg anyday, but your opinion may be a bit different.

And wow, I wish I was playing though an 810E and SVT 4 Pro, or MESA Big Block 750 at 11. I'm 17 now, but at 11, I was playing through a 10 watt behringer combo :/.

Well, young fella........

You are, indeed, fortunate to have these choices!

Okay...I have gigged with a 4Pro for the last 6..6.5 years and it has NEVER let me down once.

Mesa builds great products and (basically) it comes down to personal choice.

I encourage you to try them both and go from there!!

Good luck in your decision!!

The Mesa head will have less wattage, but with an 8x10 that won't matter. What does matter is tone, and that Mesa has that in spades.
