Switch between two amp heads with one cab

Is there a special box that allows me to connect two amp heads to a cab and switch between them?

I would be very careful with this. If you ever end up with both amps at once going to the same cabinet, you are likely to be a very unhappy camper!

In addition, some amp heads (especially tube heads) do not like to be unloaded and will fry. The one that is not driving the cab will be unloaded.

Further, the switch would have to be capable of carrying the full power of the amps, plus a safety margin - probably not something small and cheap and it would have to switch without shorting anything out.

NOT A GOOD IDEA.

Wow, I thought switching between 2 amp heads would be as simple as switching between two PCs with one monitor.

Chris,

IMO it can be IF they are both SS or Hybrid. But I am wondering what is it that you are trying to achieve? I am thinking that MESA might have already made 1 amp that you are trying to use 2 for.

Let me know if I am even in the right ball park, please. Cheers.
