SWR 2 12 cab getting new speakers

Sign in to disble this ad
i recently picked up an swr bigfoot 2 12 cab for a few dollars knowing the speakers were shot. the original speakers are bag end and i know i don't have that kind of money. i have a 4 10 crate cab that rocks now but the handles are broken and it's too big and heavy for me. i'm a college kid in a professional gigging band (play every weekend) and play in large venues often. i'm looking to spend less than 150 for new speakers for my swr cab. i found some neo 12 Peaveys. does anyone have any experience with these for my application? this cab would definitely be lighter and smaller than my 410 but would i be happy with the sound? thanks in advance.
i'm playing an active fender jazz 24 into backline 600.

Since replacing stock with other brands can be a gamble (sometimes educated and successful), my first impulse would be to see about a rebuild on the stock speakers.

Have you consulted with Bag End about replacements? They might be a little pricey but better sound/less trouble in the long run...

Good luck, have heard good things about that cab and the 4x12 version too.
