SWR 210T issues help!

Sign in to disble this ad
OK so I bought a 2x10T SWR workingmans cabinet. I played though it in the store everything sounded allright. I got it, so I didn't have to lug my big cabinet around for practice.
So I get it home hook it up and now 2 wierd things happen and I hope someone can shed some light on this.
When I play a A note and let it sustain, only the A it has a distortion sound like a bad speaker. I can hammer the E all day long but just when I hit a A it sounds a little fuzzy. 2 everything will be going allright and then suddenly pop, crack pop an electronic sound comes busting through, I hold the strings or start playing and it goes away.

Can a bad crossover in the cabinet be causing all of this, and even stranger it didn't do any of this in the store. I used a little adapter to lift the ground and it was better but it still did it. It sounds fine when everything is rolling but man those 2 things are annoying so I would like to fix them.

James

the horn in my 115 workingman had a horrible horn. im assuming your horn has a 3 way selector that you can turn off? try turning the horn off and seeing if that helps

Yeah played with that as well.... It's weird how you can be playing along and everything sounds great and then poof, electronic pops and snaps and a fuzzy A.

Sounds more like an amp issue to me. What are you using. If you are unsure of the cabinet and you just bought it it'll have a warranty. I'd return it for an exchange.
