SWR 350 VS. SWR 350X

Sign in to disble this ad
I am going to purchase one of these amps very shortly and wanted to see everyones opinion on which is better. I know the 350x is the upgraded model but I keep finding the 350x for cheaper. Is this because the 350 is no longermade resultin in higher prices? How much of a sound difference is there? I. Have owned a 350 before and can't wait for get that SWR sound back. Feeling is Believing!!!!

I've never played a 350, but I currently own and use a 350x. I love the sound, and regularly make use of the added Subwave feature, which you can get a pedal effect of, but it's nice having it included.

I find the 350 watts a little short on power, but that's easily solved by getting a power amp if you want to run something a little more watt thirsty, but still want the SWR sound (much like I'm working on)

If you're finding the 350x for cheaper, I'd say pick it up. The subwave is worth it.

My 350X was made in the US, and it's been 100% dead reliable since the day I got it. I used to use the SubWave more often, but anymore I just enjoy the sound. It's got a lot of power for a rock band, don't let anyone fool you.

I just went yesterday to the store to try some heads cause I ordered the headlite.
So the only SWR head that was in the store was the workingpro 700 and I loved it.
So I’m getting curious about the other heads, how different they are.

I have a question.

Is there a way to know where this different models are made.
I just know that the headlite is made in mex. Cause of the bass player rewiew. But so for I couldn’t find anything on the website.

Look on the back. Should have a "made by SWR Sound in ......" imprinted on it.

The "mexi-made vs US-made" thing is way overblown, in my opinion. The gear is good.

Go for the pro SWR stuff.
I prefer the heads without affects for pure unadulterated tone.
Get what you like the sound of.

I own a 350x, good sounding Amp, I did have to eq it though - not a traditional leave everything flat Amp in my opinion. Once it was dialed in with two SWR 4x10's it stands toe to toe with anything else I have played through. It has a very flexible DI and is well thought out for a working musician, I believe you can also run it with no cabs and just run the DI (based on memory - check the manual).

It also supports loads down to two Ohms, even the fan has an on and off switch - again well thought out. I have no use for the Subwave, but I can see some people would use it for certain styles of Music. What are you looking to spend - I might be persuaded to part with mine - I am Amp Rich at the moment.
