You all know that Iam a newbie, my question is, I am stepping up from a combo. I have latch on to a SWR 400 workingpro head. I have 2 8ohm raw 10s that came out of a Aguilar cab. I also have 2 12in 4ohm speakers that came out of a schoereder cab. I am going to if you guys don't think I am crazy have cabs made from someone mention in here cant think of name right now. Can both these cabs be wired 4ohms, if so how many ohms with both would my amp be running. And would this be a good Jazz and blues sound.

It's impossible to say how good of a result you will attain. You'll need the TS parameters for the drivers to design the cabinets to suit them.

As for impedance two 8Ω drivers in parallel is 4Ω and two 4Ω drivers in series would be 8Ω. Total in parallel will be 2.67Ω

Yeah, this does NOT sound good to me - not at all. If you were an experienced cab maker, sure - you would build / wire these to be fine for what you want... but I sense a real learning curve ahead.

You are really shouldn't handicap yourself like this from the beginning experiment. Either figure out what sort of drivers you actually have and design a cab around them (doable, but a big adventure for a first-timer) or buy new drivers and build cabs that have already been designed around them//just buy pre-built cabs. Unfortunately speaker design shouldn't be taken in a hit-or-miss type approach. Please don't waste your time and energy mcguyvering a cabinet around speakers of unknown spec.

That being said, I absolutely love the Epifani 210/212 stack I currently have. It sounds great while shaking booty.

I have no doubt it does (I've been running two Epi NYC 2x10s for a while now) - - but these are *NOT* cheap cabs. Clearly, we both know that you get what you pay for, but if the OP is thinking of building a cab out of parts, he's not likely to have the money to put together rig like you (or me!)

+1 to ALL the above. You're heading straight towards diapointment. Either find out EXACTLY what the parameters for those speakers are, and build the appropriate cab(s) for them, or much better plan, sell the speakers and buy a bass cab.

Unless you really know what you're doing, I'd stay away from building a cabinet. If you buy something pre-made, you'll know what you're getting. Building your own is an experiment.

I thought there was away you could wire two 4ohm drivers together, to make a 4ohm cab. and if so would that not get him two 4ohm cabs. According to what I read he is having some professional cab builder he read about here. But you guys know more then I

I just emailed Eminence Speakers and ask them about wiring speakers, and I don't know what I am talking about. They were very good about getting back to me. These guys in here know their stuff most of them.

No, you cannot wire two 4 ohm drivers into a 4 ohm cab. It can be 8 ohms if you run them in series or 2 ohms if you run them in parallel. Effectively, if you have two speakers of the same impedance (ohms) to use, your options are double or half of their individual impedances.
