SWR 550X & Goliath 4-10 cab?

Hi-

I was wondering if anyone could advise me as to whether a living-room condition SWR 550X amp and an SWR Goliath 4X10 cab was a decent buy for $800.00? There is one on CL close to me and I've been looking to upgrade from my Fender B-DEC to something a little punchier. I have a '75 reissue Fender Deluxe Jazz 4-string that I'm starting out with. Does anyone have any experience, pro or con with this equipment? Will this rig get me thru my learning curve without wishing I'd waited and spent more for a bigger rig?
Thanks for any info.

That is a great deal. Wouldn't think twice about it. I have years of playing on SWR and can tell you that is a great rig well worth the money.

I have played professionally on a rig like that for 25 plus years. You won't regret it.

Sounds like a good deal! The Goliath cabs are killer, and the "number series" amps are great too (I have a very early Bass 350).

Thanks for the advice, guys! Looks like I'll pull the trigger on it some time this week.

I think the price is a little high.
$300 each is more like it.
Good rig though.
