Arrow SWR 750x Vs WorkingPro 700 with Tech 21 Pro. Bass DI...

Hi Guys... I am little confused. I got WorkingPro 700 with Tech 21 Prog. Bass DI... Is it really a good idea to get another SWR 750X which I still have to pay USD 1300 $.
Never tried 750X. Not available in local dealer. I have to make special order for it. The guy show me SM-900 (USD 1830). Little expensive for me. lol!
I play in Metal Band. If it really makes the sound different then I go for it....

Thanks,

The SM900 has no bass intensifier, like the WP 700, so I wouldn't go there. It is good for jazz and pop though. The 750X does have a bass boost and a slightly different sound than the WP 700. But I will say that I have not owned a WP 700, but a friend of mine does own one and he has Mesa 210 cabs and it sounds great! I have played through a 750X and it sounded really nice too, but lacked in volume as do ALL the X series amps. If you are not worried about volume too much and will be running through the PA most of the time, I would go for the 750X. It has more features and I did like the tone a little bit better than my friend's WP 700.

I have the WorkingPro 700's little brother (the 400) and it is collecting dust under my bed. The tone is absolutely tragic unless fronted by a SansAmp or other "tube" emulator, and volume is embarrasingly weak for the advertised wattage. Not to mention, after less than 3 years in light use and already all the LED lights on the front panel are messed up (basically they stay on all the time).

Maybe the WP700 is a different animal but my WorkingPro 400 is easily the most expensive mistake I've made in my gear buying career. I will categorically be staying away from SWR products from now on.

There is a world of difference between SWRs Professional Gear and their WP series. Buying used can get you very lightly used Pro gear. Because some bassists flip gear all the time. Not hear on TB!

I don't love the X stuff though. Older 900 SM-500/400, Bass 750 all good. Got to use correctly though. Great value!!!!
