Now I'm just hoping my friend is working. He always hooks me up with trade in value and gives me his employee discount.
Cool, I hope you are happy with it. I ran one at 2 ohms for years. I left the 'contour' knob alone, and ran the master and gain pretty much cranked all the time (metal!). No problems at all, sold it around 6 years later, and as far as I know, the guy is still using it.

I picked it up today. So it turns out its the earlier version, the "Basic 350" ...I think that dates it to '93 or '94 IIRC. I tested it out for a while and was pretty impressed with the tones I was getting. The mids-level and the frequency knob for the mids is great. You can get this thing pretty full and bassy just by doing what you guys recommended, rolling back on the mids level and treble rather than pumping in more bass. With the gain and Master up pretty high through an 8ohm cab there, I was shaking the walls, so I think with a 4ohm cab and a little extra power, I should be covered volume wise. We'll see...

I didn't get as much trade in value for my other stuff as I'd hoped, but thats usually how it ends up at Music Go Round. But our craigslist here is 100% sellers with nobody buying, so its either MGR or ebay

cool
enjoy, it's really the best thing SWR ever did, IMO
The current Super Redhead is close kin, but they don't do that as a head.

Nice score!

If you want some punch, turn the mid freq. all the way counter-clockwise to 200 Hz, and set the mid level to 2 or 3 o'clock.

There's also a really handy modification thread for SWR's here on TB where the Aural Enhancer is bypassed with a switch. I've done it on all my SWR heads and really enjoy the altered sound pallet it provides.

You got a great amp and if you ever decide to get rid if it, you should have no trouble getting your $ back.
I miss mine, for sure.
