I have found that the SWR 610 is one of the best sounding cabs I've ever owned (besides my Henry 8x8 which is hands down the best sounding) . I use to own two of them and sold them both to downsize, but I miss the idea of owning one.
I still have the SWR canvas cover in storage for my next one ...
Right now my SWR Super Redhead 210 combo is all I need, but -
How do you guys like the 750X ? I have contemplated getting another Mesa M6 or an SWR 750X when I have the money someday. |

If the amplite works out for me, I may buy another. |

I went with ampeg stuff, and as it is good I miss my swr stuff.
Does anyone have any experience as to how the Grand Prix preamp compares to the 750 bass amp?
I'm thinking of going back to my old setup, but maybe with an 8x10 cab |

I've been using Trace Elliot cabs for years. I was using a Trace 1048H (4x10 with horn) and 1818 (1x18) together, the red stripe series. I'm definitely in love with SWR now! -Luke

I really want a Big Ben to put under my Henry Jr. 4x8 and Goliath 4x10 cabs. I just hope I can find one locally in good shape, shipping on evilBay for those is brutal!

Originally Posted by rolorockbass Ironically I was gonna post my new rig too.... looks like ^^^^ | How are you liking your new rig. I just recently spent some time dialing in the 750x at rehearsal. The head puts out a lot of low lows, and so I was getting a bit buried in the mix when the full band was cranked up. I dialed back the low eq to about 10 o'clock and boosted the mids at 200 Hz and voila, punch and power for days! The 750x can really slam that cab.
I wasn't sure I'd use the overdrive too much, bit just a splash really gave my tone that nice tubey breakup I used to really dig with my svt.
All in all, very happy so far!

Love it so far. I do have a question though for other Redhead owners. Do you use the D.I. on the amp or run a separate D.I.?
I am torn as to which way to go with mine. |

I am torn as to which way to go with mine. Attachment 318760 | The DI is very nice, no need to run a separate unit.

I wonder if big conventional solid-state amps are effectively obsolete.
The 750X doesn't seem to get much love here these days.
I don't use mine because I'm not gigging since the accident and I don't want to wrestle it out of storage. I got a brand new 550X and 350X when they were closed out, and the 350X gets the use around here into a Goliath II or Goliath III, just because it's manageable to move around.
