That thread got deleted by the mods for some reason. It was a lot of conjecture and not a lot of fact anyway. From what I could discern from the thread it looked like SWR has put production on hold and will make an announcement to SWR's future at NAMM 2013.

+1

I was able to search for "SWR" successfully but couldn't find the thread, so it must have been deleted.

With the going rate on high quality pro level used SWR stuff, I dot know if my wallet can take a blowout on new SWR gear!! I'll have to start selling some stuff in anticipation! Anyone wanna buy a ton of old SWR gear from me?? Just kidding. I love the build quality and ease of service of their old stuff. Given its value, I'll never sell it off.

Somethimg's up.

TB'er hapa's disclosure in that now missing SWR thread had changed from "Genz/SWR rep." or something like that to "FMIC Bass guy" or something, and the Genz folks have been mysteriously absent in the Genz-France thread.

According o my brother the guitard/Hamer fanatic, FMIC is shutting down the Hamer brand. Custom shop and US versions are totally done, and 90% certainty on the cheapo imports as well. What does this have to do with SWR? I'm not sure, other than maybe pieces of a trend.

Sounds like some sort of across-the-board restructuring.

And, I thought Hamers were some pretty good stuff.

So, Fender's mucking up the works again? I could be so done with them...if it weren't for those Precisions....and Jazzes.....and Tele's....and Strats....and Deluxes.....and Bassmans.....and Princetons.....and Twins.....and............

Notice all my favorite Fenders were designed before 1970.

Some would muse that all Fenders were designed before 1970.

I happen to know where you can get golight amp and cabs. PM me and I can give the name of a store who has them in stock. They will prolly cut you a good deal.

I do have a soft spot for my 1983 Sidekick. Made more money with that amp than any since (13 years old, gigging with Mom and Dad, raking in $50 a night + comp'd burgers and cokes).

I started my account before i started working for Fender and participate in threads not related to FMIC. I was getting too many pm for my personal life relating to work. So i didnt want to waive that flag so high. That is the only reason.
