I got it from a craiglist seller for $150. The real treat is that he lives 2 minutes away from me and has a full blown studio in his house! He also claims that it once belonged to a player that recorded with Alice Cooper and did some stuff with LA Guns.
Sounds cool? whatever! haha
Never thought I'd find any hardcore musicians in my little town.
Anywho, does anyone have experience with one of these? All I know is that it's heavier than cabs of its size these days and is 8 ohms. It's hard finding info on my phone.

I have a Goliath Jr. II. It's a nice sounding cab. Very Hi-Fi. If the speakers are good you're laughing for $150. Those drivers are suseptable to cone creasing when pushed hard so be careful when running that cab loud. If you need to replace them it can get costly to do it properly. |

input panel, and 10" driver, greater power handling capacity (500 Watts RMS),

Power Handling Capacity: 500 Watts RMS
continuous pink noise, 40 Hz to 10K Hz, 8 hours
Sensitivity: 103 dB SPL @ 1W1M
Frequency Response: -6dB @ 40 Hz and 12KHz
Safe Excursion Limits: 400 Watts continuous sine wave @ 40 Hz, 56V in @ 8 ohms.
Size: 23" W x 23" H x 18 1/2" D
Weight: 90 lbs.
Production Period: 1990 to 1996

I bought that cab new around 1990 in rudy's music shop in nyc I think I paid over $900 bucks with the cover.
Anyway at that time that might of been the best sound cab that I ever heard... I also bought the swr SM400
Head killer rig for its time ... |

I use the SVT-CL with my Goliath Senior 6x10 but I feel like now I'd be really having to crank up the amp with this new cab that only runs @ 8 ohms.
Anyone recommend a simpler head that would go well with something like this? I just wanna use this as my jazz rig. Just playing through the PA is getting a little old. Even though it sounds great! hahahh

You'd probably end up with a total investment under $350 and have a great sounding rig!! |

| The biggest issue here is your SVT-CL should have a 2 or 4 ohm cab to be safest for the amp. If you wanted to use your CL with this cab you could probably rewire your speakers in parallel to end up with a 2 ohm cab. You'd just need to confirm all of your cabs speakers are indeed 8 ohm.
On an older cab like that, someone may have already replaced the speakers to a different ohm rating, and/or rewired them to a 4 or 2 ohm combined load... So no mater what amp you use, I'd suggest using an ohm meter to double check the cabs current ohm load just to be sure.

A simple light and compact solution would be a used GB Shuttle 6.0

I have been enjoying My Goliath for years and it is the cab I always know I can stand by. I dont like lugging it upstairs though. I have tossed mine around like a big dumb gorilla and I have never had to replace or repair anything on it ...EVER sounds great, looks great and makes a nice stool when you get lazy or are waiting to backline
