SWR Goliath II, NEED rear port tube length!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a GII that I got off CL last year. I noticed that the rear port does not have a plastic tube in it, as my GII Jr. does. The 2x10 has dual tubes which extend almost to the front of the cab. Did the 4x10's have a tube? how long was it? How much would the absence of a tube affect sound? If it is absolutely necessary, I'd like to get the correct tube for it.

A GII should have a cardboard tube in the port.

If it's not there it will essentially stop any intended cab tuning from working.

+1

I would measure mine, but I sold it.

Perhaps you could edit the thread title to indicate you need the port tube length, i.e., rear port tube length?

BTW, I'd say it was between 5 and 8 inches.

I'd pull a speaker opposite from the port hole and check if the tube is rolling around inside the cabinet. These things do have a habit of falling out and, as most of the weight is inside, it could be there.
