SWR golight, omg what a sound!!!

Well I finally got to hear the amazing sound that was in my head! I got my SWR golight 410 8 ohm last week but wasn't able to get all my equipment together until my gig this evening. You can see in my sig what all I have in the way of a gigging rig and the new SWR golight was the missing piece of the puzzle . It was so powerful even with the little Hartke 250 watt per channel head that I only needed to turn it up to 3.5 on the master volume to get it as loud as I needed. By the way it was outside gig at a chili cookoff. It sounded so full and powerful I was surprised it didn't push us off the stage!!!. What an amazing sound! And those of you that told me the 8 ohm cab would be enough, you all were right. Even with the volume low it was all the sound I needed and it mixed very well with my ampeg 15" cab. Well , that or it covered it up, either way a I am very pleased. Anybody considering buying this cab will be very happy with it if you like big sound. Thanks to all who helped me make an informed decision on picking this cab.

I haven't heard the GoLights or any of the Goliath IV series (since they started using Eminence), but my G III with PAS tens is the best 410 cab I've played through. Heavy though!

You rarely see the SWR Golight 410's up for sale which indicates the original owners are satisfied and hold on to them. Nice thump to weight ratio. Does the tweeter blend well with the top end of the tens? I read that the Golight tweeter is somewhat improved over the Goliath series.

I love the Golight series cabs. I tried a Golight 210 with a Headlite and was suprised by how full it sounded. It was like a chihuahua that thinks it's a pitbull!

I didn't fool with the tweeter much . It recommended to start at 4 and work it up or down to your liking and it was crowded on stage so I wasn't able to reach around to move it. I will get back to you when I have more time to experiment.

That's a bit of a stretch although I think they are good.
Many items don't show up on classifieds either because they were poor sellers (presumably from bad performance) or do to cost vs performance ratio; some of the best gear is only sold in small quantities do to overall high cost
