SWR GoLight Question

Sign in to disble this ad
Just got an SWR GoLight 410 play used it last night at a gig. The low end was missing and over all it sounded overly compressed. The Cab Serial No is M1533245.

Thanks Jim

Check speaker phasing. Place a 9V battery across the input cable and make sure all cones travel in the same direction.

I want to try one of those speakers in my Baby Baby Blue II combo. If you find yourself with the cabinet open can you read any #'s off of the drivers or even take pics of the back of them? I'm pretty sure they're eminence made custom drivers but Fender has been giving my local dealers the run around when they tried to get me one.

Might not be "The Run Around"
Some companies insist on having the damaged part when furnishing one of their replacement parts to a customer.

This is to keep customers from using their proprietary parts to build or modify a different product.

What amp did you use?
Was it the Marcus Miller model?
4 or 8 ohm?
What bass and where was the gig?

Murphy, 8 ohms regular cab not Miller, I was using a working man 700 head. We played a local bar.

The phasing was correct when tested.

Well that cab should sound big and not compressed.
What kind of music were you playing....how loud?
maybe your EQ settings had got messed up.
Have you managed to try the rig out today ...and try different head, and speaker cable, bass and instrument cable....to eliminate other possibilities?
Good luck and hope you get it sorted.

Murphy that is the first time I used the speaker on connect with that amp. Hum, good point. I sounded good with the 1/4 cable during testing.

Murphy, the cab sounds good with the 1/4" and ever better with the speak on connectors. I think is in the pedal board. Might have a bad cord or might be bad pedal settings.
