SWR Grand Prix for something else???

Been a long time since I was on this board. Here's my dilemma... I have been using this pre for about 10+ years now. And I LOVE it! However, I'm getting a little tired of hauling it around (well, it and the power amp) and it's definitely more than I need most times. I'm looking for something, more compact than a 5 spc rack, that can still power my Bag End cabs. I don't want to lose the sweet tone I get from it. Any tips on where to start?

How do they sound compared to the GP? I wonder if I can find anywhere near by that has these (probably the SM900 @ GC). What about the 9.0? I just saw it used for about $550.
