SWR Help(headlite)

Sign in to disble this ad
So I got a Headlite in my house on loan from my local music store and Im really diggin the tone(no haters, play what you like) but I have some questions that could not be answered at the store. First being that when paired with an amplite can it send 800 watts into one 4ohm cab and second will it work with any power amp. All help is greatly appreciated.

No, it won't. The amplite can drive another cabinet.

Yes, you should be able to line out to any amp.

Great sounding amp. One of SWRs best ever. Not enough gas, though.

The Headlite can't combine with the Amplite or any other amp into the same cab. Same goes for amps in general.

It wouldn't be that cost effective to run the Headlite along with another power amp for multiple cabs...go with a more powerful amp instead if 400 watts doesn't do what you need.

I've wondered this as well. What makes an amp like a stereo power amp bridgeable and something like the headlite and amplite not? Seems to me you should (in theory) be able to bridge to 800 watts @ 8 Ohms. 4 Ohms is right out, since that's not how stereo power amps impedence works (see the Amps FAQ).

Just FYI, my interest in this is 2 amplites bridged into a fEarful with a preamp. 6lbs for 800 watts @ 8 Ohms seems really good.
