Help..

I got a good deal in the works (?) so I need some input quick.

SWR LA 15 ..whos played it?
Ive owned SWR and I am quite a fan.
Never tried the 15 LA before though.

Would It be good for small gigs as well as practice?
(have other amps, so.. I dont wanna get it ONLY cuz its a good deal)
I'm tired of luggin my 410 to practice and back.
I see it doesnt have an xlr out..they say the 1/4 inch tuner out can go to board if needed?..I usually use xlr , so I'm not exp on that one.BUT I ALWAYS go to the board anyway..what say you?

ANY input / exp would be helpful.

Tahnks gang.

EDIT: I just heard its the older model "with the cloth grille?" good/bad?

SWR's LA series of combo amps is the bottom of the bottom. Not even as good as the WorkingPro line, which is essentially entry-level gear. I'd avoid the LA series altogehter.

I've played the la12 a couple times and it's okay for a small practice amp but it pukes out very fast. I wouldn't think the la15 would be a huge step up and I don't think it would work at all for gigs, even small ones. The workingpro is much better stuff and I seem to remember even the 1x10 being quite loud. For small lightweight amps I think the best swr option is the spellbinder or a used baby blue but it's more money then than anything in the la/workingpro lines. You can usually pick up used workingman combos around here anyway for $200 or so, a little heavy but nice amps.

LA15

I bought one for my son a couple of years ago, he loves it. I've used it on some of my practices and I thought it worked well. Remember it's not a 4x10 unit, so it won't be as loud, but I thought it carried it self well. You can always run a DI out to the PA for more volume.

I had one for while. Not very loud. I think it would be tough to hear it over a drum kit. I didn't dislike it as a practice amp though. I paid $150 for mine.
