SWR Pre-amp question

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an older model SWR Workingman's 4004 and I was wondering if I could run just the DI out without having any cabs attached. The amp does have a speaker on/off switch, I dont know whether the switch is just a mute or if it turns off the actual amplifier. Any ideas?

Yes, you can run the DI with no speaker attached.

Agreed. SWR amplifiers use load resistors on the output which will allow you to record without a cabinet connected without damaging the amp.
