SWR Redhead important question

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking of getting this SWR readhead. http://www.music123.com/Bass/Bass-Am...482143.product 400w @4 ohms 650w @ 2 ohms. What wattage and ohms should the extension cabinet be? No guessing. I need the right info.

Happy New Year to all. Make it a good one fellas.......... May the GAS be with you.

I run either a Triad or a Goliath III and it works awesome! Use a 4 ohm to maximize the Redheads 650 watts, however an 8 ohm cab will work just fine...good luck. I got mine right when it came out and have never looked back. A great combo amp!

A 4 ohm 210 rated at 600 watts would be ideal, but the fact is, ANY 4 ohm cab that matches well to the internal 210 will be fine.

4 ohm extension for sure, and as the head will put out 650 watts, that's 325 to the internal speakers and 325 to the extension cab. I am pretty sure the internal speakers are 200 watts a piece for 400 total, so I'd stay with ~400 so you have a little extra head room.

Enjoy!

a 4 ohm goliath jr is the perfect match and that is not a guess

I've used a Goliath Jr., Eden 2x10XLT, and Triad under my Redhead, all 4ohm cabs, and very much preferred the sound of the Eden.

Nowadays my Redhead is my "leave at rehearsal" rig and I run a VT bass into the effects return and completely bypass the preamp.
