Hey everyone I got a Goliath Junior cabinet with a blown up speaker. I already fixed the speaker twice and I'm trying to get it replaced but I don't know the ohms of the speaker. The cabinet it's pretty old and I can see it on different websites but it seems where it saids Golaiath Jr on the cabinet looks more modern or different from mine who can tell me where can I get the ohms?

If you post a pic of yours we'll be able to help. Failing that, have you tried the SWR website to find out the cabs total impeadance based on what one looks like yours? If it's the old 4 Ohm Golliath Jr I or II then the drivers are 8 Ohms each wired in parrallel.

Ok basically work's this way: 2x10 of 8ohm you have two 10 speakers of 16ohms, 2x10 of 4 ohm you have two 10" of 8 ohm.
Whis Goliath do you have?the 4 or the 8 ohm version? Anyway if it's a old one I think probably you have just the 4 ohm version.
Cheers. Enrico

If it doesn't say Goliath Jr. II or Goliath Jr. III, then it's a Goliath Jr. I.

As such, it is basically 3/5ths of a Goliath, as it is missing 2 of the 10's and some internal cabinet volume. Thus, if you look at product descriptions of the original Goliath 410, it might help. BTW, the Goliath I & II were both built by Eden, and are classics.

It just so happens I have a copy of a blurb about the Goliath I:

This original Goliath bass box from SWR was build by Eden. It has Eden speakers and can be compared to the Eden D-410T. Four 10 inch drivers (100 watt rms each), one 150 watt rms Bullet Horn. 8 ohm, 500 watts RMS, 103 dB SPL @ 1W1M, frequency response -6dB @ 40 Hz and 12KHz. Two input jacks, one banana. Full adjustable tweeter attenuator, PAS 10’’ woofers, Fostex Horn driver, Rear ported. Spring Loaded Rubber Grip Handles, Black Ozite Carpeting with Stack Lock Corners, Steel Vibration-Free Grill, High Quality Metal Input Panel with Heavy-Duty Attenuator, 1/4" In/Out Jacks, Horn Protection Circuit and a knob which controls the Horn.

and...

Goliath II:

The first upgrade to our original 4x10, featuring a redesigned crossover, input panel, and 10" driver, greater power handling capacity, and upgraded construction techniques and materials. The Goliath II was upgraded again in 1996 to the Goliath III.

 Impedance: 8 ohms @ 600 Hz.
Power Handling Capacity: 500 Watts RMS
. Sensitivity: 103 dB SPL @ 1W1M
. Frequency Response: -6dB @ 40 Hz and 12KHz.
Safe Excursion Limits: 400 Watts continuous sine wave @ 40 Hz, 56V in @ 8 ohms.
Size: 23" W x 23" H x 18 1/2" D
. Weight: 90 lbs. Production Period: 1990 to 1996

4x10" - Impedance: 8 ohms @ 600 Hz - Power Handling Capacity: 700 Watts Continuous Program, 500 Watts RMS continuous pink noise, 40 Hz to 10K Hz, 8 hours - sensitivity: 103 dB SPL @ 1W1M - Frequency Response: -6dB @ 40 Hz and 12KHz

Can't comment on the power ratings hype. Hope this helps.

Something's a little off there. If each speaker measured 2 point something to 3 point something they'd be 4 ohm speakers.

Hi, I'm new here and was looking for similar information. I have a 2x10 Goliath Jr. III. On the back of the cab it just says 8 Ohms. So by the above explanation, if I need to replace one driver, it would need to be 16 Ohms? Just wondering if I read that right.

Is there a suitable replacement anyone would recommend? The original is a PAS. I've read something about Eminence, both good and not so good. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Eminence mad excellent drivers period! Whether they make one that will work well in your particular cabinet is another matter.
