swr sm-500 who has one? an what do you think?

I am looking around an I like the looks of this amp,,It has the features that I have in one of my combos,,,,

Just want some feedback on this amp before I dive in an get one ,,,thanks

i used to have one. it's a pretty good amp, but its natural voicing is kind of scooped so for my tastes it needs a little boost in the upper mids. other than that, though, it's pretty nice.

I have had one. its a solid amp, but the EQ is worthless, IMO. cant get a decent sound out of the amp at all with any bass i've used with it. Like JimmyM said, the mids are naturally scooped and wont cut through a band mix well. SWR's"overrated" power ratings and unuasble preamp are their weak points. Their supposed 500 watt amps sound like 200 watt amps. Love SWR Goliath III cabs though. But didfferent strokes for different folks. i suggest try before you buy if you can. But depending on how much you going to spend on it, there are much better sounding, louder, more versitile amps out there these days.

I think i may settle on the workin pro 400 looks like it has everything that I need,,,,,,
