SWR Workingman 2x10C/Hartke Transient 4x10 question

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm planning on pairing the Hartke Transient 4x10 (240w @ 8ohms) with the SWR Workingman 2x10C (400 watts @ 4 ohms -with 8 ohm extension speaker).

I know the ohms won't present a problem, but since I assume the wattage total will be at 500w (the SWR Workingman 2x10C is normally 260w by itself) will that possibly cause clipping if I'm not watching the volume?

Thanks. I've looked there. I couldn't find a thread that addressed my wattage question when pairing cabs that exceed the amount of watts the amp head powering the cabs though. My assumption is that it would be best to have an amp that would power at 500w or higher for this set up.

your assumption is wrong, and it's all covered in the link provided above.
