Question SWR Workingpro 15 with extra cab?

Hi all. I have searched the forum looking for this, but didnīt find anything. Also, the user manual wasn't helpful, but I'm sure you can help me

I am interested in buying a SWR Workingpro 15, and I already own a 4ohm 4x10 cab (300w). The combo doesn't have any additional cab output, and the only one that seems so is labelled as "Unbalanced 1/4'' line out". My question is: Can I plug the cab into that output? Will it get hurt? Will it work well?

Here's the manual.

There is one speaker output. 4ohm min, 200W.

The unbalanced line out is just that - an unbalanced line out. So no. Not for a speaker.

Yeah, what Codger said. One of the main differences between the Workingman's series and the WorkingPro, is that the WorkingPro combos no longer support external cabs.

There are a lot of combos that do, but I can't think of any that could power a 4 ohm cab unless you unplug the internal speaker. Otherwise the combined impedance would be too low.

You could of course unplug the internal speaker on the WorkingPro in order to power the cab, but I guess that's not what you are after.

Actually, come to think of it, the EBS NeoGorm combos support 4 ohm external cabs.

the workingpro 15 will not handle an external cab with it's built in speaker attached. your best bet is to run that "Unbalanced 1/4'' line out" into a poweramp to drive the external cab

Thank you for all your responses. Plugging the line out into another amp does not sound practical to me, so I gess I will have to continue my amp search.

Anyway, about the difficulty of finding a combo that can power a 4ohm cab... Is there any way to convert a 4ohm cab in an 8ohm one? As far as I know, putting a 4ohm resistance between the cab and the amp would do the trick. Is there any component that can do that?

If you swap the internal speaker for an 8 ohm, and mod the amp to add a speaker out for a second 8-ohm cab, then you'd essentially have the predecessor Workingman's 15. Why the heck did SWR eliminate the ability to add a cab to the WM combos?
