TB 500/1000 vs Pre-fender swr 350

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently own the SWR (pre fender) bass 350. It sounds great, and I'm looking to buy a stingray and sell my usa P bass. I was wondering what you guys think.. Should I go with the terror bass or stick with my swr? I love the swr, it does have the 12ax7 tubed preamp, so does the terror bass (x2). I love the weght to power ratio (terror, and especially for gigging it'd be nice), and the fact that the 500w are pushed no matter what ohmage. But is it worth the hassle? While already having swr head pushing 210 & 410 stack with a stingray? What would YOU do?

get the Stingray and try it with the SWR, if you are not happy then consider the Orange... it's a bit of a different sound to the SWR

I think SWR and Fender are made for each other...especially a Jazz.
I wouldn't be changing everthing at once either... get the MM SR settled and see where you stand sound-wise.

For sure, I've been to guitar center pretty much everyday this passed week A and B'ing all kinds of basses.. MM's just have this huge radiant sound. Probably due to those extra large humbuckers and the distance from the bridge, anyway.. I'm certain i'm selling my P bass, next up is a usa jazz for sure. always wanted one. I have a MIM right now. I've done plenty of research on the terror, Just still want some feedback, but thanks guys. I just have no headroom with this amp is all, it's clipping, i'm underpowering the speakers.
I always play through the walkabout scout they have there. It is amazing with the ernie ball. AMAZING. that'd be my set up for sure, with an extension 12'
