TB600/TB1200 advice

I have the option of picking up a used Fender TB1200. THe only issue with the amp, according to the owner, is that there is a slight "pop" through the speakers on turning on or off. He claims that he contacted Fender about this, who said it was OK, and was just capacitors discharging.
COuld any owners of the 600 or 1200 chime in and let me know if this is normal, or should I steer clear of this particular amp ?
It is at a very reasonable price.

Yes, it is normal for many amps to pop when turned on or off, and it is indeed the capacitors discharging. Those are great amps, highly under-rated, powerful and great sounding.

Thanks for that Rickenboogie. I sold the Streamliner I owned earlier this week ... just wasn't for me and I am actually really happy with the (brand) new amp I am trying out on approval (an Ashdown Spyder 550). However, I came upon an advert for this Fender, and I am aware of just how well they are thought of. From the clips I have heard, I will like it very much also.
I need to decide whether to keep this new Ashdown (with a 4 year warranty !), or for a bit more cash get this 18 month old TB1200.

I'm torn.

They are pretty heavy, especially for one going to it from the wonderful micro world.

Well, I'm not quite sure how they do it but the Ashdown Spyder 550 is over 13Kg itself (which is acceptable to me), so the TB wouldn't be that much more.
