Used Acoustic Image amps/speakers only for a long time. Two 4 ohm speakers and the amp at 2 ohm full power.
Recently bought a TC Classic 450 for fatter tone. It is 4 ohm max so I can only use one of my AI speakers.
I started combining the systems by coming out of the back of the 450 balanced output and into the effects return on the AI so I could use the AI power into the two AI speakers.
Then the lightbulb came on and I ran a cable from the 1/4" send jack on the back of the 450 directly into the preamp input of the AI amp. Full preamp control of the 450 along with full preamp control and power of the AI which includes effects. Rich full tone !!!!
I know this is not a new procedure. Just sharing my joy of combining these two high quality systems. |
