I've been taking my Fender Rumble 100 combo. Its abit heavy too but with the popoff casters I can mostly roll it along. It makes loud rattles as it rolls along and hitting sidewalk cracks, etc might cause internal issues at some point. So I half lug it-half roll it, PITA.
Or I use my GB Neox 112T on a folding cart. It sounds great with my Markbass F1 head. Still be nice to have a single unit combo and with built in tuner, effects wont have to carry seperate gearbag for that.
But a TBer mentioned I prolly could not lug the BG250 thru downtown streets as the amp is cumbersome to one hand carry about. I could prolly still use the folding cart then just backpack axe in bassbag with pockets for strap/cable. When I see a good price I prolly snag one. Looks like I can make use of BG250 at my restaurant gigs, practice and I hope I will like it's tone better than my old Rumble100.
Not sure it can beat the Neox112T+F1 head. That little rig pumps some nice tone/volume with any of my 5 stringers. Guess I have to drop into GC this week. | I had the GB neox combo... I think it was 400w... just before the TC and I actually prefer the TC.

But the Markbass F1 head into my Neox 112T, my TC-E RS 210's or my Epifani UL410 cabs is a thing of beauty. I also use my LMII or Streamliner 900 with those cabs but that F1 head is a remarkable little piece of gear. And I've owned GBE 600 and 750 heads.
So in my case, it'd be the TC tone against the F1 tone for that rig. I should know this week which one I prefer if I can make it to GC. More needing the all in one features of the BG250 combo. So tone may atually be a close second. Though the youtube vids do show the TC combo sounds very nice as well. So I'm almost there.

I was definitely surprised that I liked the TC more than the GB and was more trying to relate that than compare with your rig. I just didn't communicate it all that well.

I'm still waiting for my Corona but I downloaded the manual and all it says is to preserve battery life to just disconnect the input cord, which is the same procedure on my other effect boxes.
btw, how long did it take for you to get your Corona? |

stepswork4:me I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Guess I was a PITA for Zzounds. After 3 attempts at price match they're sending me a BG250 for abit less than $310.00. Not as good as some I saw here that gottem for less than $300 with GC coupons, etc awhile back. But a good enough price for me to try one without even trying one firsthand as well. We'll see how it does soon.
Anyone put casters on their BG250?

It's hard to see the benefit, but then I'm pretty much just car to x location; I don't regularly have to go any distance down sidewalks or anything, like I see some others talking about.
At its height, I think there could be some utility to moving the handle to/putting a handle on one side. It's an easy carry, but a bit tall. |

I like the idea of the luggage dolly or maybe adding a side handle. Guess I'll see when it arrives just how it feels to lug it.
I do like that when I've installed casters on some of my other cabs, TB153, it made them sit up abit higher. I also have a amp stand but that may make it stand too tall.
TC combo should arrive Friday. I have a med-size club gig this Sat, hope to try out the BG250 using my P5 with Nylon Tapes. BTW, there is/is not attenuator knob for the tweeter in the BG250?

It is much more responsive on avtive instruments. Others have stated that they didn't believe that the tweeter was even functional until they used an active bass.

At that price point, I find it hard to justify this model over the US-made GK MB115-II... | Quote:

I play an MB112 and I like it but when I compared a bg250 and the MB115 I much preferred the bg250. YMMV but don't take the GK as being a better amp just because it's US made. If wasn't up until a short time ago and those of us who have the older model think they're just fine. The bg250 is a very well made amp.

Can't disagree with the stunning product part but I'm still curious since those selling around $270 represent a pretty serious discount from their normal street price and I'm finding it hard to believe TC expected their dealers to absorb all of that.
Ah well I may never know and I guess it makes little difference. They are great amps and by my estimate this thread has helped them sell quite a few of them.
