thanks, looks like this amp has issues.... there is a hiss from the amp DI output into the recording interface..not massive, but very noticeable and serious enough to NOT record with. Quote:

Buy a good quality soundcard [If you don't already have one] or get your BG250 checked out if its under warranty.

I seriously doubt this amp is capable of driving any additional speaker, but its a simple (and inexpensive) matter to buy two, lay them on their sides (at least then you can read the logo!) and run them both. | And I would agree or they would have put in a jack for an extension cab. But neither can the 200w GK combos so as far as adding more power/volume between the two it becomes a choice of either a powered cabinet with no eq or effects or a second combo with it's own eq and effects and a bit more power and volume.
Either way works it just depends on whether you're more of a GK fan or more of a tc fan.

I've been running the tubetone high for a while, now.

And it's free! Give it a shot. If it doesn't work, no biggie.

| | | I really don't know if it can be used for the BG250 or just for pedals but I should think you could use it both ways.
This news release says it won't be released to the public until March 23 so we will get it just a few days previous ... so still quite a wait. http://guitarnoize.com/namm-2013-tc-...eprint-editor/ |

I wrote TCE & asked about it, and this is the reply: "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but no, the TonePrint Editor will not work with our bass amps as the TonePrints for the guitar pedals are in a different format than the bass TonePrints. It is possible that we will make a seperate TonePrint Editor for the bass amps, but I'm afraid I cannot say when or if this might happen."
I think they ought to make a multi-effects pedal that could do any effect you program into it, preset or edited by the end-user. Just a box with some knobs on it that you can send any effect to. That'd be cool.

Well, OK. However those of us who have TEC effects, such as the Corona Chorus some of us got free in that recent promotion, could use the software. I was planning to sell my Corona (it's still sealed in the box) but now maybe I won't. I could put reverb on it I should think and then run that on one of my BG250s.
I also imagine eventually other pedal users will start posting their effect patches on the internet for others to use so this could be a good thing ... but much better if they come up with software we could use directly on our combos. |

I turned tubedrive/toneprint off alot to get cleanest tone. Still felt kinda harsh to me with my active basses. Get to know the EQ knobs on this combo, helps. With my Am St P5, now getting some nice warm tones and thumping scoop tone when I want it. I sometimes use Tubedrive @ 9:00-10:00 if at all.
THe Bass knob boosts 100hz to the right; cuts 80hz to the left, IIRC. Other knobs, Mid/Treb also boost/cut frequencies. Not like regular B/M/T EQ knobs regularly do. Check out Uriah Duffys' EQ plus other feature use on YouTube. Helped me alot. Good luck, let us know if it works for you.
