Why do you have to pay shipping? It's a defective unit. I'd think they'd send you a UPS label. You might double check that you're in under the right return policy.

Why did you remove the Carvin from consideration? 30 lbs even - 18x12x17 wow!

And the Ibanez Promethean P3115 looks pretty cool too.

And yeah, it's seems that far too much value is place on one amp being *capable* of being louder than another, when either one is easily capable of delivering the volume needed. I can't say I know of anyone who runs their amp at full volume all the time.

i never tried carvin products as im from florida and all i can try is what gc or sam ash can show ... oh we also have bass central n george's music stores & best buy ... none of them sell carvin products ... normally i buy from sam ash but if u dont have the cash ill go online to zzounds or american musical supply ... but lately i bought 2 fender jazz bass at craigslist 1 4 strings for $200.00 and a 5 strings for $300.00 and i have been happier than i ever have been , even when i bought new stuff ... only thing missing good reliable bass amp !!! depending on how the return goes ill either return it , sell it or there is a possibility that i keep it ... just a quick fix on the tolex , glue or tape and ill see ....

Well, you have to be near a Carvin store, which most people aren't. For all the people that buy online, they do get high marks. And I believe they can be returned if you don't like it. You'd undoubtedly have to pay shipping for that.

Your business, but I don't think you should sell that unit, since you said it cut out on you. IMO, that needs to go back.

it didn't exactly cut on me it just didnt want to turn on at the church(concert) that i was playing ,.when it was time for us to play , but i took it off that multi-plug that was on and change the power cord of the amp and left it on for the rest of the gig , was fine ... i did use it the following sunday at my church 3 hrs service , on the whole time , no problems and when i came from work today at 5 i turn it on till now (still on) practice with it mp3 and all , no issues . i ended up fixing the tolex with a super glue and after all im keeping it ... at least for now ,.as zzounds will only do a.refund if i pay the shipping ... no $ here ... i really like the amp for practice and power and sound , i just think is no good for a lot of travel and outdoor gigs ... u have to be very careful with it ...

Great tone, great playing! Which compressor TP did you use... Spectracomp or Comp in the middle?

RE: Quality concerns - I have played mine outdoor, indoor, practice, recordings 7 days a week since early 2012. Not a single problem with it. It's loud, great tone and - being owner of various TC gear for past 15 years (yeah, I play guitar too) - I feel confident enough to say that overall TC gear always appeared to be rock solid even though to me instruments are just well taken care of tools. No abuse but no hugging either.

Yeah that sounds very nice Fourtet! Nice work.
I purchased two of these back in December and play one everyday at home for practice and swap between the two for gigging. Have been gigging once or twice a week since then and only wanted to use the DI once and probably didn't need to but wanted to keep my stage volume down. These things crank!
But just wanted to chime in to say that both units have thus far been working flawlessly for me. VERY pleased so far.....knock on wood(head)!!

Hi everybody.

I was considering purchasing this amp for playin live with my band.

We play mostly hard rock and since we play mostly in bars and small club (the only 2 open air gigs were with PA support) I tought that this could have the right amount of volume and features.

The guitarists use respectively a 5150 and a fireball.

So how does this amp holds up with hard rock?
