I was about to purchase one of these heads. How can I tell if the one I buy has the problem in it or not?

Hey Morten,

I just checked back in on this thread today and see the recall notice. I contacted the service center in NY listed on your webiste; since I'm in the US. Will they be issuing call tags?

I really love the amp and hope I won't be without it too long.
Thanks!
Jesse

Hi rudedog,
Since it's inside the amp you can not see it, but we are in a process of recalling all the units from the stores.

Thanks

Hi Jesse,
Have you emailed to the service center?
They will have all the information regarding that.
Thanks
Morten

Repair Process is Easy

Hi, I sent an email to the address indicated and the repair company has been very responsive. I received an email with a printable UPS Return form, printed it and stuck it to the box. It's now at the pickup location for UPS.

I'm fortunate to be in upstate NY, only about 75 miles from the actual repair facility. Rather than use the fuel and time, this is just easier.

I have been so impressed with TC Electronic and their proactive response. They have exceeded all my expectations. In the 21st century, this is so refreshing and inspiring.

I've enjoyed the BH250 so far, it is allowing me to explore a whole range of tones and get to know my bass better. The tiny practice amp that I started with is so bad it started me to doubt why I took up the bass as a hobbyist... the BH250 has come to the rescue!

At this point, I'm not even sure I'll try to sell the old amp. It might be cruel and unfair to have a kid start down the same path and get discouraged with their new (or used) instrument.

How long did it take you to get a response to your initial e-mail? It's been 24 hours since I sent the e-mail, so, looking for clarity on how you perceive "responsive."

Thanks!

I heard from Lifetime within 36 hours. When I sent in my first email, I included my serial number, home address and telephone contact info. They started the process with that info and emailed me back.

Check your SPAM folder... it may have the response in there.

I'm wanting to buy one of these amps, but GC says they won't be in stock until mid March. There are still some out there for sale but I'm not sure which would be faster, buying one and sending it in or just waiting until mid march.

Lifetime Service Center, the TC Electronic recall vendor, has a Track Your Repair function on their website.

It shows that they received my unit on Friday... I'll post when it ships back. I assume it will take a day or two, depending on volume.

LSC appears to be a large and thriving contract services company, doing a lot of warranty and repair service for many companies. That makes me feel pretty good so far.

My Amp is Home

So, Lifetime rec'd the amp last Friday via prepaid UPS they provided. They called me Monday to review what would happen. fixed on Tuesday, shipped on Wednesday, received at home via UPS on Thursday.

Granted, I'm only 75 miles from the repair facility, but it was handled extremely well. You would have to add a few days for UPS Ground service depending upon your location, but I think TC Electronic picked an excellent vendor to handle the recall.

I just ordered one from Musikhaus Thomann. Are the amps sold after 21st January OK even though they might have been sitting in the retailers warehouse for some time?

Can the bh250 get a good scooped growl without the TonePrint? (Trace like). Seems to have a fixed gain, so just wondering. Great features for the price.

I wonder how TC Electronics BH250 compares to the Markbass Little Mark 250?

Power specs seems to be fairly similar, but other than that, have some of you got experience with both amps?

I pulled the trigger on a used one that has already been to the recall center. Can't wait to check it out.

You'll love i, it really kicks a$$! I can't believe how loud it is. I've had RH450, and BH250 doesn't seem fall behind it in terms of loudness. And RH450 is known to be loud.

I bought it as a backup to my Fusion 550, but I see myself using it a lot more often
