Are TC Electronic cabs particularly versatile?

Hi everybody

My hometown of Copenhagen, Denmark was flooded this weekend and as a result, I may have to get a lot of new gear since I happened to store most of my stuff in the basement of my building. Tough luck but that's life.

I have previously been playing MusicMan and Ashdown, meaning great sounding but the cabs are really heavy and I have been wanting to get a cabinet that was smaller and more light weight. I don't play big venues, in fact I'm not even in a band right now but my previous experience has taught me that I didn't need alot of what I had.

So I've been looking at the TC Electronic stuff, in particular the RS212. Reviews and reports are promising, to say the least, but most of the videos, articles, reviews and what not are all by people playing either funky slap bass or some highly virtuosic (is that right?) melodic stuff that I don't do. I still have my Ashdown head and plan on keeping it but with a new cab. While I do like the sound, I am not really into this modern, hifi, trebly sound that most of the video reviews have used, so I would like to hear if there are anyone from a band playing rock or soul or just something other than Steve Bailey or Ida Funkhauser?

As always, thank you for your time.

Those cabs will EASILY cover a wide range of styles. Funk, hardcore, jazz, rock, metal, the lot

If anything, I think they lean more towards the vintage side.

Very versatile if you ask me....but a single 212 was not enough volume for me on a big stage or outdoors...hence the Ampeg

Turn down the tweeter... EQ to suit... they'll do great.

Anyone tried a Thunderfunk through the Rs212?
