TC Electronics Rig or Berg AE212

Sign in to disble this ad
Guys I need help, this has been driving me nuts for a few weeks now and I'd like some thoughts.

So I have a Mesa Boogie Big Block 750 which I love to death
I was thinking of getting a Bergantino AE212 cab to go with it
which are $999

or

I have a line on a killer deal for a TC Electronics RS212 + RH450 for the same price.

I'd just keep my Mesa for whatever.

What do you guys think?

let's see... you can either buy a new cab, or buy a new head AND cab.
if you just bought the cab, you'd have a cab.
if you bought the head and cab, you'd have two heads with different flavours, and a cab that doesn't care which head you use with it.
hmmm...

seriously?!
get the TC. if you're not happy with the head, sell it.

I guess my concern would be that
if I didn't like the head (TC) I wouldn't run my Mesa with the RS212 because it wouldn't fit on top and would look pretty silly sitting on the side of it.

Also the style of music I'm playing is Alternative Rock, and some deeper thick sounding stuff backing up an acoustic player.

To each his own obviously, but I've owned many cabs and many different Bergies - the Bergs are the best out there. YMMV.....

The TC rig is the better "deal"
but it might not be the better "choice" for you ...

totally depending on which sound better to you
BTW the BB won't "sit right" on that AE212 either

A "deal" isn't great if you don't dig it. The TC has a certain voice. If that isn't your thing, then you're wasting your money. If you really want a Berg 212, then buying the TC won't scratch that itch.

I decided on the Bergantino AE212 thanks guys for chiming in. I'm interested in the TC gear but I just couldn't go that far out on a limb to try it.
