By the time the idea to formally change the name was brought up, the mod that was asked said that it would be "too much work," due to the age of the thread. |

So, with that in mind, has anyone got a B15-like setting they want to share ?
thanks

Originally Posted by Idiot Savon How about BH500 users? The Staccato came along and was effectively the same amp, and in that, it made sense that it was included almost by definition. The Classic is largely the same and the RH750 is another logical extension. Those amps all share form factor and some features and functionality.
Extending beyond that, which is the question at hand, is basically taking it from being an "RH450 Club," which is a defacto "RH Club," to being a "TC Electronic Club."
My personal opinion, opening up to all TCE amps and/or cabinets, would probably be a positive move for traffic and quantity and quality of activity.
But, at that point, IMO, more than just some post in this thread saying "all TCE amps are now welcome," a name change is really called for; even more than it's called for in the RH450 club being open to all RH amps. As it's been explained to me, the only way to do that is to start a new "TC Electronic Club" thread.
Starting another thread (which I also think would be a positive move) has what I see as some problems of continuity. It doesn't transfer anything from this thread...it's a new start, and in my mind, that leaves a big problem of fragmentation. This thread will continue to limp along and the other one will start off with a limp.
Further, a decision to "change" the group, whether formally or informally, is going to be difficult to make. Reason being, neither I nor anybody else really has authority. As a forum club, this is a group without real administration or organization. And as far as club threads go, it's also a relatively small and fairly inactive group. You can try to solicit opinions or take a vote, but not much happens.
So, I guess it's up to what you and others want to do. |

That way the stuff pertinent to the RH form factor stays at the top instead of being buried under the newer stuff. After all, the second generation of RH owners is just in the early stages from sales of used units.
That said, thanks for bringing the RH750 to the GTG. I can say I still like the sound of my RH450, but with the larger 610 cabinet the RH750 really had more "balls". Had I been given the choice early on, I would have bought up to the RH750. But, the RH450 still sounds real good to me so it's a keeper.
Mark

| | | | I just realised my RH450 is two years old now.
When I bought it I was a bit worried about it not being reliable as it has a lot of technical stuff going on in it that could wrong.
I play it just about every day and it has countless rehearsals and gigs. It has never faltered once.
Very happy camper |

There's obviously a bunch of eq adjustability on either side, and I didn't touch the Markbass (4 bands were using it). On stage, I found it more wooly, gritty and dirty sounding than the tones I've dialed in on the RH450 and 750. I back off on the gain and don't get into much tubetone. I listened to the other bands out front (a Fender P and Jaguar with picks and a Fender P finger player with a light touch). I usually develop the-grass-is-greener syndrome, but I wasn't really digging the tone too much. The guy would owned it clearly had his preference eq'd. I would have liked more fat and punch.
I was playing my 55-01 (MK5s/LH-3) finger style, and I tend to dig in a bit). Out front, I like the sound of the P finger style best. It was the smoothest and fattest sounding, but I don't know what it sounded like on stage. |

Very happy camper | Good to hear. I had my 450 for a bit over two years and never had a single issue of any kind.
I've had my 750 for some months now, and I'm hoping not to get bit by the knob bug.

It's currently hooked to a bergantino AE410 @ 4 ohms and it LOVES that cabinet. I've tried a variety of bass's through it and the clear winner for what I like is a Lakland skyline 44-02. Clear, huge, punchy tone.

Any opinions on that cab with that amp? I like the idea of the light weight and maximizing the power of the RH with one cab.
I'm playing contenporary rock-blues (SRV, Johnny Winter, etc). Are there other cabs I should look at? I only play 4 string so I don't think the attenuated bottom end will bother me but since I can't just go try one in a store I appreciate any insights you can provide. Thanks.
Tony

Also the first time anyone but me has used it. Man it sounded good. Articulate, deep, plenty of grunt. Lots of positive comments from the different players that used it.
It held up really well with a wide variety of music and basses played through it and sounded especially nice on a " wonderful tonight " style ballad, very musical.

sat well in the mix, deep full sounding and Loud. Pretty funny considering it is it's only 236 watts and has no low end .
Also I have just been taking the head to practice and running the DI into the crappy vocal PA. Still sounds great. And I like not having to carry a cab.

Just get something that's better than 98db/1W/1M that sounds good. Many of the locals I've spoken to are doing dumb things like hooking these amps in to speakers with efficiencies below 95db... It'll get you there but you'll be fighting every parameter to get the volume and punch you want.
