Must not make snarky comment, must not make snarky comment...

I'm not enough of an expert to be able to explain why this idea is bad on so many levels, I just know that it is. I'll let the experts weigh in -- though they might just let you put your finger in the electrical socket so you can learn for yourself

I think the 450 has a shutdown circuit that will protect it from damage, but I would research that before I tried it. I also suspect the 4 ohm cab will simply dominate the 8 to the point that it might be hard to tell the difference between both cabs and just the Eden by itself. However these are just theories, I'm sure others can be more definitive.

Good luck with that socket (dang, that one slipped through )

TC 2x10 8ohm + Eden 210XST 4ohm =.....
Will it really damage the RH450?
Considering the 3 x TC cabs must be just above 2 ohms anyway?
Probably go down the 2nd tc cab option ( 2x12 for the bottom end ) but ....the XST sounds just soooooo sweet....
My question is - is anyone else out there tried this?

I'm not an expert either, but this (IMVHO) doesn't sound like something I'd try.

In terms of impedance, my understanding is that most speaker impedance labels are nominal. I don't know if there's a tendency for impedance to be understated or overstated by the standard "4" and "8" ohm labels (or if they are all over the map), but I recall seeing something about impedance being understated for TC cabs, so three of them are not 2.67 ohms, but something higher. I couldn't swear by any number, but I think they're closer to 10 ohms. If your Eden cabinet is 3.5 ohms, or even if it is exactly 4 ohms, it's not going to be the same impedance as 3 TC cabinets.

Not being an expert, I also can't definitively speak what happens in terms of loudness with mixed impedance cabinets with the same driver configuration, but just on the base logic, Tony's point about imbalance would seem to make sense.

RH450 is great but not convinced by the cabs

Hi guys

I think the RH450 is great, however Im not convinced by the cabs. I have one RS210.

Admittedly thats probably not enough to outpower a very loud guitarist and drummer (not going through PA) as I have often found is the case.

I find the RS210 a bit 'nice' sounding. Should I buy a 2nd TC cab - RS210 or RS212 or RS112 to give me the extra umph or just scrap TC cabs altogether and go for something like Avatar, Bergantino etc...

Thoughts? I need more convincing on the TC Cabs. I want a bit more punch and growl and by growl I dont mean simply putting up the TubeTone which is really a bit like a poor distortion pedal.

Cheers
Lloyd

I run a 2x10 and 1x12 with a Classic 450, all I get are compliments on my sound. I go from deep down blues to top end funk and I have never been disappointed by this setup

Mind if I join the club? I run the rh450 through a pairing of the rs210 & 212. Very happy with the rig.

Help!

I was practising with different settings on my RH450 yesterday through my one RS210 and all was fine. I was at home and not playing loud.

Today I plug in and nothing is coming from the speaker (RS210). Its like it has died!! I have tested all cables and my bass and all is fine. There is definitely input going into the amp (RH450) - all lights on etc.. so its not the amp, cables or bass.

The cabinet is just dead!! Its either the cabinet or the input sockets. What could have happened? I wasnt playing loud yesterday so surely I couldnt have blown it.

Are they this unreliable??? What if this had been a gig??

Ill probably take it in to my local guitar shop later but wondered if you guys had any ideas or had experienced this?

Cheers

I believe the cabs are so descent and clear

With all respect, I have rehearsed with a death metal band (do not have to mention the loudness in that rehearsal). The first day I brought only my RS210 and the drummer asked me to decrease my volume because he can't hear anybody else but me. For other rehearsal I brought the 210 and the 212 and i could obtained a very good definition and super good low end filling any possible whole and melting with the BD and the guitars. My sound is always recognized by the other members of the band. In my humild opinion the cabs are super descent and clear. Greetings my friend.

I think we can have different expectations on sound and feel...largely feel. My experience, impression and opinion has been that a single RS210 didn't provide the sound and feel I was looking for in louder situations. I started out with an RS210 and RS212 and added a second RS210 shortly after.

My previous band (the only one I was playing with at the time) played too loud, both at practice and gigs. Like I said I came right out of the gate with a 210/212 setup. That was what I became used to. I tried just using a 210 at practice one night as an experiment, and while it got the job done, it felt thin and strained, relatively speaking. I just personally don't have a lot of comfort when I feel like I'm pushing it near the limit. That's what it felt like to me.

Maybe a year in, we moved past vocals only in the PA, and from that point forward, I most often used a single RS212...sometimes 2 RS212s. For me, the RS210s just fell to disuse, and I ended up selling them off.

Now, I have one RS212 and a 410, and I can use one or the other as the situation (or my whim ) calls for.

I have owned RH450 two years. I also bought a RH 750. Both amps went through the fire test Jim Steinman΄s Dance of Vampire Scandinavia's premier show here in Finland. During the one year amps sounded through 200 three hour shows (2 shows/day). The audience (musicians mostly), the soundmen and Jon Steinman group praised the sound. In my opinion to me RH450 is a better-sounding than RH750, so in the end I sold out of Rh750. I΄ll use a TC RH450 with three different brand of cabinets: TC Electronic Rs 212 cabinet, GK Neo 410 and EBS Neo 410 and 212 cabinets. The sound is excellent in my opinion. I liked my RH450 also with Ampeg Neo410 when I tested one.
