What a great find, Jose. Thanks for sharing! I'll have to give this a try when I get home and see what settings this approach has land on.

This is admittedly an area of weakness for me. I found settings that work for me, but that was through a fairly random process, relative to this one.

Hey all,
I see all these awesome RH450 Shoulder Bags in pics but I can't seem to locate a dealer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Google "TC Electronic RH450 Gig Bag." If you were searching "shoulder bag," maybe that wasn't getting results.

Right off the bat, they're in stock at Sweetwater. You might find another that you'd rather deal with.

I had this problem with the cable my RH750 came with. It would not keep a good connection with the head. I just use my other speakon cables...

If it's the bag I got with my TC amp, I would advise you to pass on it. Cheap zippers and no padding. I just got a used laptop bag and it works fine. (That said, I still LOVE my RH450).

The speakon cable I got with RS212 had a similar problem. I had another better quality cable that worked fine. So, I unscrewed the end of one that came with my cab and found one of the connections inside was loose. It was simple to fix (just need a small screwdriver) and now it works fine.

Ok so I'm running an rh450 with an rs212 and am thinking about buying another rs cab to link. Any recommendations on another 212 or a 210 (both rs)? Pros/cons?

Thank you so much for your extremely kind words! I'm way far below from being a "master bassist", but anyway I feel so glad to realize that the experience I've accumulated in almost 27 years of playing can be useful for other fellow bassists. I truly appreciate your appreciation towards my modest work.

This will boil down to personal preference. I spent some time with two RS210's, two RS212's and one RS410, and my favorite combination was one RS210 on top of one RS212. This combo seemed the most balanced and the most articulate to me.

Still going strong here with my RH450 and EA CXL112. Last year I added a Markbass NY121 cabinet and got rid of the RS112 for a smaller/lighter setup. What a great set up. I've got presets configured for my fretless, my fretted, and my upright bass and the system hasn't let me down for funk, community theatre, jazz/easy listening, or rock.

This is a keeper!

Mine is a keeper too. I have done a wide variety of gigs with it for a couple of years now.

Hi guys I am looking for some of you expertise on the RH450. I am considering buying a RH450 but not sure how well it will work with my older Boogie road ready 2 x 15 800watt cab. I am liking the reviews I have read but am not sure it will be enough power .I have read that the power ratings may be a bit deceiving but that Advanced Power Management (APM) makes up for the lack of actual wattage. So in short is there enough power to push my cab? I am also looking to downsize my cab in the near future so this combination would be only until I get a different cab. Also the RH750 is out of my price range or I would buy it. Well I look forward to hearing you opinions. Thanks.

A friend of mine just did a side by side comparison with the RH450 and BH250 and the BH250 seemed to have more power.

I stack my 210/212 all the time, no worries. It takes quite the bump to cause any trouble.

Hey DeadGoonz, enough power for what purpose? And what head have you been using?

Hey Alvaro, I really found your video enlightening as well. Since you're here (or you were), I was hoping you might clarify some points on the frequency selection.

In summary:

The process involves boosting the level of the Bass, Lo-Mid, Hi-Mid or Treble to maximum while cutting the other three all the way and then making frequency adjustments to find the ideal point.

Bass

Goal - Find the frequency with the best balance of power and definition, avoiding a boomy/muddy sound from being too low and lack of power from being too high.

Process - Pluck open E while adjusting the bass shelving frequency, listening for the point where the power and definition are maximized.

Lo-Mid

Goal - Find the frequency where the sound is strongest.

Process - Play 5th fret harmonic on the G string while adjusting the Lo-Mid center frequency, listening for the point where the harmonic is most powerful.

Hi-Mid

Goal - Find the frequency where the sound is the most "aggressive."

Things were pretty straight forward to this point in the video, and this is where my first question comes in. I suppose "aggressive" is a term open to personal interpretation, so I'm not sure what to do with this one. Can you expand on what is being looked for?

Process - Pop open G string while adjusting the Hi-Mid center frequency, listening for the point where the sound is most "aggressive."

Treble

Goal - Find the frequency where the brightness of the sound is most pleasant.

Again, this is open to personal interpretation, so I was wondering if you could elaborate, especially for what sound qualities you were looking for in rubbing the strings?

Process - Two alternatives (1) pop open G string or (2) rub the strings while adjusting the Treble shelving frequency, listening for the point where the brightness is captured best.

Enough power to push my older 800 watt Boogie RR 2 x 15 in medium/large size clubs with two guitars (metal) and loud drummer. We tend to play louder than needed but that's kinda what we do. I have been using a SWR 450 which seems to work well for me I just don't like the SWR sound any longer.
