TC - RH450 head in a Mono gig bag...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey folks, I am guessing someone might have some insight for me on this....I have a TC Electronics RH450 en route and was wondering if that would fit into the storage compartment on the Mono gig bags...I know that it has been documented that the storage is minimal on those, but would that RH450 fit into one with a few cables?? I have an option to use a different bag with the right amount of room but it is not anywhere as protective as the Mono, ProTec, iGIG bags...so, should i go with the iGig bag over the Mono??
I REALIZE this is more about the gig bag to be sneaking into the amp forum...but it is more about finding a bass gig bag that my TC RH 450 can fit into...so, kinda calling on RH450 owners to speak up if they tote their micro head (any head approx same dimensions as the TC unit) in their bass gig bag...if so, whatchya using....thanks all!

It might just barely fit, but probably not with cables in it as well and it may be straining the bag and limiting the protection the head would get with the head in there alone. You can fit a Markbass F1/F500 in a Mono pocket, but it leaves little room for cables. The RH450/RH750 is about an inch taller and an inch wider than the F1 (and about twice the weight), so I wouldn't risk it. At least not with cables and the feet still on the amp.

For reference, here's a pic of an F1 in the Mono pocket- it fits pretty easily, but not with much extra space:

My Shuttle 6.0 doesn't fit in my Mono dual with anything else. I use an LL Bean shoulder bag for the head and all the cables/spares...unless I am flying, in which case, that stuff goes in a rucksack in the overhead.

I use a 12x12 Gator "mixer" bag. Put 12 gauge speaker and power cables in top zippered pocket. Works well.

A couple of comments about the Mono Dual:

One of the pocket zipper pulls snapped off and the Mono "logo bar" on the pocket fell off.

I like the (dual) mono case, but the hardware has sorta failed me.

I have flown with the dual case about 30 times, and typically haul it in my Elantra Touring wagon several times a week. I have had it about 1 and a half years, and I think it is kinda beat.

I wish the pocket was a bit deeper and able to accommodate the shuttle head more easily. Still, I like the case and use it.
