Will be good to have here:

Gain and Frequency Ranges
Bass Freq range: 71 Hz to 1120 Hz (default: 200)
Bass Gain range: -24 dB to +15 dB (Shelving type)

Low Mid Freq range: 100 Hz to 1600 Hz (default: 400)
Low Mid Gain range: -24 dB to +15 dB (Fixed 2.1 oct.)

High Mid Freq range: 200 Hz to 3150 Hz (default: 800)
High Mid Gain range: -24 dB to +15 dB (Fixed 2.1 oct.)

Treble Freq range: 400 Hz to 6300 Hz (default: 4000)
Treble Gain range: -24 dB to +15 dB (Shelving type)

So based on that and the reset info, I am suspecting this:

Default bass = -3 on knob = 200hz
Default Low Mid = Noon on knob = 400hz
Default High Mid = Noon on knob = 8000hz
Default High = +8 on knob = 4000hz

Love mine took some work but I play in a rock band and a Tech Death Metal band and I'm able to get a thick rocking lowmid tone with some snap and then I can get those grinding mids and highs all out of the same rig. With 2 2x10's and a 2x12 I both bands have no issue with tone or volume that's for sure. Anyone running it with the 4x10 cab . wondering if the front porting makes a big difference in low end projection at big venues? plus I think a 2x12 4x10 and 2x10 would sound a look ohhh so awesome .

As much as I whine about mine, I still dig it quite a bit. I can't find a head that I like anywhere near as well all things considered.

yes the test is on an rh 450 but the only dif in eq was were the factory defaults were. The way the shelving and the Q of the mid's opperates with the hpf and lpf are the same just starts set to dif freq at the factory the rh 450 is set to 280 400 800 1.6 the rh 750 is 200-400-800-4k factory

BTW (probably been asked before somewhere on tb, but...), does the Blacksmith has a different tone profile in the treble region from the RH450?

Port location makes no difference whatever the size of the venue.

OK, just for fun I did a quick demo with my Status. Just noodling a bit - IMO this is quite modern sounding, but you might of course disagree. At least I am not bothered with sag or slow response. YMMV.

I'll see if I can record a short clip with the Sadowsky later also, that bass can be bright and deep sounding.

SoundClick artist: 4stringbassuser - page with MP3 music downloads

Edited to add: recorded with the built in, front mics of my Zoom H2. Strings are a couple of months old DR Hi Beams 030-090, some verb (EBS Dynaverb) on the first fingerstyle part.

OK, so I uploaded a couple more. One with the Sadowsky, and one with the fretless jazz (don't mind the intonation with boosted mids both on the amp and onboard pre.

Like I've said numerous times in the past, this head definitely has its own voice, but still I find it plenty versatile.

The Sadowsky clip overloaded quite a bit, but I'm too lazy to do it again.

Good stuff there, 4-string! The playing and the tones sound great.

It seems that one of the issues with the RH sound though is the degree that it varies over the volume range.

Thanks. Yes, the voicing gets more evident as it gets louder, but not so much that it represents a problem, at least not to me. And it does get loud!

Not for everyone of course, but nothing is.

Well, I guess my noodling didn't qualify as comedy after all.

Song genres updated, hopefully they will re-open the account. If they don't, I can live with that also.
