TC's 450 Classic Sound samples

Sign in to disble this ad
I've just made a few samples of my new TC Electronic 450 Classic. I like it very much, it offers me everything I want, RH450 is just overversatile for me. Those presets and tuners and parametric eq..

Bass is Fender AV62 with VERY old strings, those are some Red Warwicks I've had on my old Lakland bass(so the're bended from body-thru bridge etc ) so keep this in mind, I'm sure you'll realize it soon

Recording chain was:

Bass-->Planet Waves cable-->TC-->TC's DI-->M-Audio MobilePre XLR Mic input.

Sony Soundforge and volume normalization.

There's no EQing or compressor enabled.

Three levels of TubeTone

Apologize my playing skills and big sorry to Flea, Timmy C

Hope it will be little bit useful for someone.

Nice! That head sounds killer with your flatwound (I assume... or at least really broken in rounds!) thing. I totally dig it.

That's the best example of the Tubetone I've heard. With my stainless steel roundwounds, the tubetone just sounds kind of stupid. That kicks with your bass, strings, etc.

That warm top end of that amp really works with your bass also... bright, but smooth and non clanky.

We have TOTALLY different tone goals, but I totally dig your clips. Great example IMO of what I kind of feel that head was voiced to do.

Nice I especially love the first and third clips. Do you happen to remember the settings you used on these?

+1 on the settings.

Clip 1 seems to have a lot more low mids / punch than clip 2.

Thanks for posting this!

Well.. Umnn... Those are really, really old roundwounds I'm planning to switch to new flats soon, but I'm not in hurry- I play in a blues&RnR band and really don't need sparkles in my sound. Those strings were used just for some testing at start point(I've made some pickups changing etc), but I kept them longer than I expected just because it sounds ok.

As said in the first post- there is no EQing at all. EQ was set flat all the time.

Clip no.2 lacks mids and punch just because it's slap and because those stings are dead, which is obvious even more when slapping.

Clip 1 and 2 are totally clean, clip 3 has the same settings except TubeTone which is set in three increasing values.

Thanks guys, please don't take it like a reference recordings, it is just DI, my old fashioned bass and alder fingers . I use my TC with a pair of Powerhouse 112's and it makes a huge tone difference, as you can imagine. Just wanted to post some samples of what this head is capable of, those Classics are not so frequent as RH's here.

+1 Flats will serve you fine for the tone you are going for. Nice tone on the clips IMO. That rig should kill.
