TecAmp amplification club.....is there such a thing yet

I know there aren't too many TecAmp owners out there....so I was wondering if there is any interest in starting a club. Might be nice to have a central thread to help people educate themselves on anything TecAmp gear.

I'm a proud TecAmp owner : my rig is a Bonafid Head with S212 cabinet and a XS112 cabinet for practice and small gigs.
May I get into this club and have a number ?

The gear sounds rich, smooth and warm. But crystal clean throughout the frequency spectrum. Love it.

It's a small, but exclusive club.

Count me in.... Puma500/s212(I..4ohm).

Wonderful small rig... more volume and low end and punch than any 210 I've played, and about the same size as many 210's but lighter weight (under 40 pounds!)... bonus! Warm, but clean and crisp!

It's hard to record the 'tone' of a rig, but here's a couple clips of two different basses through that rig in the same room, same player, with the same settings (amp flat except for a slight softening of the upper mids).

IMO, you can hear how pure and clean and 'accurate' the TecAmp stuff is.... very warm but still clean, and subtle differences between instruments can be easily heard.

The first clip is the bass in the photo above... a 70's J oriented FBass Vf5 with aggressive stainless steel rounds. The second clip is a 60's oriented J Bass (Alleva-Coppolo LG 5) with nickel roundwounds.

I have a M212 cab. Great cab.

I might be in as long as my lazy ass* doesn't have to post pics

*I don't actually post with my ass, but anyway.

Well, just a S-212 for me.... GREAT cabinet, though. And really light and punchy.

Good to hear the comparison of the 3 amps Ken. I'm glad to say I like the Puma best....or it might have cost me more money!

It's just a beautiful sounding head. Another TBer asked for the LMII/RH450 comparison. All nice voicings in their own right, but man, that Puma is unique... deep, fat, warm, hi fi all at the same time. And, snappy looking too

I used my 76 P bass with LaBella Jamerson "ropes" fitted thro' my Tecamp Puma 1000 and EPI ul2 410. Fantastc sound, really enjoyed the night, it's not the bass I gig regularly, it was so deep and round, but still had some nice top end.

I bet that was WAY fat. I don't know if you saw the clip I just put up about 20 minutes ago (at a TBer's request) directly comparing the Puma500 to the LMII and RH450 (I assume that was the clip you were commenting on, but not sure). You can really hear that unique (IMO) combination of super deep, fat, warm low end combined with that smooth hi fi top end... really nice! That even comes out more with the Epi versus the more aggressive, punchy AE410 I used in the clip.

Really nice head!!!!!!
