Tecamp Puma 1000 - no output - HELP!

Sign in to disble this ad
I set up my rig as normal @ gig tonight, plugged in & tuned up, then discovered no output from amp! (Fortunately I always have my trusty WTX500 as a back-up so got through gig minus one cab...) The amp appears to be getting signal, as the clip light flashes when I turn the input level up all the way, but the power section appears to be on indefinite holiday. If anyone has any advice about similar problems w/ this or any other feather-weight amp, please come forward. Oh yeah, FWIW the amp runs very cool and I rarely notice the fan running, but tonight it kicks on immediately upon power-up. Also, the amp took an unfortunate dive when I was loading out of a gig 1st weekend of January, it fell about 2 feet (inside padded bag), sustained a hit on the front bottom left corner -- this resulted in a nearly undetectable cosmetic blemish, but the amp has shown no operational problems of any kind ever, but particularly since then, until just now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The power section didn't just go into protection mode, I assume, and no doubt you've tried it again since you got home and still no dice?

Would it be worth taking the top off and checking that nothing was knocked loose by the fall and then finished off by some seemingly insignificant jolt tonight?

Might be a tech job, though. At least you have a great backup amp

Thanks Growler. No solid light to indicate protect mode. Tested it over and again on first two set breaks, as well as once more since I got home, but all the same each time. Quite honestly, if I were to take the top off I wouldn't have the first clue as to what I would be seeing. Gut feeling is tech job...
