Tecamp Puma 1000 w/ VT pedal

Sign in to disble this ad
I've had a couple of loud bar gigs this week where I needed a rockin' rig. I got a nice deal on an 8 ohm Epifani UL410 (II) last week to use with my Puma 1000. I also ran a VT Bass pedal through the parallel effect loop and blended in some grit/overdrive. Having all that headroom in a rig is awesome. I think this is the first time I've ever played through an amp system that is almost too loud. I'm also tilting back the cab on a stand to aim it at me so I'm not overloading the stage with low end. The Tecamp/Epifani combination really throws out the lows.

I like having the flexibility of the parallel loop to blend in a "colored tone". Do you guys tend to run drive pedals before the amp or through an effect loop?

before always, no matter what effect. the vt will work well in both spots, but now that companies make distortion pedals that actually work well for bass, i don't bother with blending or loops.
