Hello Tech-savvy TB'rs,
I need a couple of questions answered asap before a gig I have this Wed:
1) My Eden Roadrunner head (yeah we're going old-school here) has been going out on me in the middle of gigs. It will start cutting in and out, with increasing frequency until it's pretty much dead. If left alone, it will recover and play for a few minutes, until the problem starts all over again. I checked the fan to make sure it's working, in the case that it was just over-heating. It is working, and today it cut out in a very mild temperature controlled climate. I love this amp...as heavy and old school as it is. Anyone have an idea what might be going on?
2) As I have a gig this Wed, and have been planning on getting a more travel-friendly head, I am looking at the Little Mark (500w). The cabinet I've been using is an older Eden 1X15" (200w, 8 ohms) and I am planning on buying the Eden 1X12 (300w, 8 ohms) for small gigs, and a 4X10 bigger. So the question is this -- If I plug into both cabinets, the wattage of the cabs combined will exceed the Little Mark head. I've been told your cabinets should never be a higher wattage than the brain. Will I be running into any issues here if I run a 500w head through two cabs whose total wattage exceeds 500? (I had no problems with this in my earlier days when I used a 4X10 combined with a 1X15.)
3) Has anyone tried that little Eden 1X12 (300)? The one without the horn. I love the sound of Eden speakers and am assuming this will be an effective small gig amp/monitor. Any reviews?
Well my wife is now standing next to me...I'm late for our date.
Looking forward to your answers. Thanks everyone!
